Fossil Park Entrance

Dinosaur Fossil Park - "The Jurassic Park of India" is situated near a remote village Raiyoli, 110 km east of Ahmadabad Airport, Gujarat. 

This location is believed as breeding ground of dinosaurs of Narmada Valley. Almost more than 13 species of dinosaurs lived here during time span of 100 million year ago to 66 million year ago when they got extincted. Almost more than 10000 eggs found from the location which makes the location the third largest hatchery of world. Lots of bones, skin remains, body parts and eggs are naturally got preserved by getting stone trapped. The stones were formed by lava due to volcano burst millions years ago.

The location came in to light accidentally in early nineties due to survey by Indian geological departments for the mineral rich place. Some large skeleton remains and eggs found from the location are now preserved in museum of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Around year 1998 AD more survey took place and more remains were identified at the location. A large area is now cordoned and preserved by government of India.

A big museum and a fossil park with different cottages is being taking shape. A prominent dinosaur tourism place is in making. Place is well connected with road and can be accessed by help of locals. Locations available on maps are approximate till date. A very interesting remote place for history and geology lovers.

ભારતના જુરાસિક પાર્ક તરીકે ઓળખાતો ડાયનોસોર અશ્મિ પાર્ક, અમદાવાદ એરપોર્ટ, ગુજરાતથી  110 કિમી પૂર્વે દૂરસ્થ ગામ રૈયોલી નજીક સ્થિત છે. નજીકના મોટા સ્થળ બાલાસિનોરથી આસરે 15 કિમી ઉત્તરમાં આવેલ આ સ્થાન વિશ્વની સૌથી મોટી ભૌગોલિક સંપતિ છે.

આ સ્થાનને ડાયનાસોર સંવર્ધન જમીન માનવામાં આવે છે. આશરે 10 કરોડથી  7 કરોડ વર્ષ વચ્ચે અને નામશેષ થયા પહેલા ડાયનાસોરની  લગભગ 13 કરતાં વધુ પ્રજાતિઓ અહીં રહેતી હતી. લગભગ 10000 કરતા વધારે મળેલા ઇંડા આ સ્થાનને વિશ્વની ત્રીજા નંબરની સૌથી મોટી હેચરી બનાવે છે. જ્વાળામુખીના લાવામાંથી બનેલ પથ્થરોમાં હજુય ઘણાય અશ્મી કુદરતી રીતે સચવાયેલ છે. 

Museum Premises

પ્રારંભિક નેવુંના દાયકામાં, આ ખનિજ સમૃદ્ધ સ્થાન ભારતીય ભૌગોલિક વિભાગ દ્વારા સર્વેક્ષણ કારણે  આકસ્મિક પ્રકાશમાં આવ્યું હતું. કેટલાક મોટા હાડપિંજર અશ્મી અને પ્રદેશથી મળી આવેલા ઇંડા હવે જયપુર, રાજસ્થાન , ભારતના  સંગ્રહાલયમાં સચવાયેલા હતા. વર્ષ 1998ની આસપાસ વધુ મોજણી થઈ હતી અને વધુ અવશેષો ઓળખી કાઢવામાં આવ્યા હતાં. આ વિશાળ વિસ્તાર હવે ઘેરી લઇ અને ભારત સરકાર દ્વારા આરક્ષિત કરવામાં આવેલ છે .

આ સ્થાને વિવિધ કોટેજો સાથે એક અશ્મિ પાર્ક અને એક વિશાળ મ્યુઝિયમ આકાર લઈ રહ્યા છે. ઇતિહાસ અને ભૂસ્તરશાસ્ત્ર પ્રેમીઓ માટે ખૂબ જ રસપ્રદ સ્થાન છે.
