Jaisalmer fort is fort built by Rawal clan from present state of Rajasthan.
It was built in 12th Century and believed to be one of the oldest fort of the Rajasthan. This fort is still inhibited by local population in 1/4th of the area.
This magnificent UNESCO Heritage site is home to all people of the city till 16th centuary within the yellow walls. It was only 17th Centuary when settlements started to inhibit outside fort due to increasing population.
This fort is home to intricate carvings, haveli art carvings, iconic Jharokha art, Mata Chamunda mandir, Jain mandirs, laxminath mandir and four gates from entrance till citadel.
